Hosting over 3.2 million visitors annually, Joshua Tree National Park plays a major role in our rural economy throughout the Morongo Basin.
We are currently seeking to form a shared-governance, community-representative model in which we can establish strategic municipal partnerships across our region. For now, we are working as an independent community advocate to encourage our community stakeholders, residents and visitors to support our local visitor centers in the high desert.
Joshua Tree Gateway Communities Alliance (JTGCA) is a newly-formed, 501 3(c) not for profit, community-based organization, founded to foster the spirit of community advocacy and collaboration. Our mission is to provide economic growth and development via collective impact in an emerging recreation/rural economy.
This video was produced by the Morongo Basin Conservation Association (MBCA) in May of 2022. Numerous local business owners took part in this documentary showcasing the multi-factorial effect that the surge of Short-Term Rentals has had on our region. As the CEO of Desert Beacon which managed properties throughout the basin, I felt it was extremely important to participate in support of what needed to change in the area.
